St. Phoebe’s Chapter of the
On August 30, 2026, the St. Phoebe Chapter of the Daughters of the King was instituted at St. Paul’s. Since January, several women in the parish had been discerning admission into The Order of the Daughters of the King, and were admitted in a joyous service with leaders and members from across Chicagoland.
Founded in 1885, The Order of the Daughters of the King is an order for women primarily in the Episcopal Church, with the purpose of bringing others into a living, loving relationship with Jesus our Lord and Savior and helping strengthen the spiritual life of our churches.
A Daughter vows to uphold the two parts of the Rule of Life: The Rule of Prayer and The Rule of Service. By reaffirmation of the promises made at Baptism and Confirmation, a Daughter pledges herself to a life-long program of prayer, study, service, and evangelism, dedicated to the spread of Christ’s Kingdom and the strengthening of the spiritual life of her church.
